Adobe Acrobat X Pro allows users to create and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations online. It provides security, privacy and authenticity to the document content. However it is possible for these security features to be bypassed by malicious users. To prevent this from happening we recommend that you run Adobe Acrobat X Pro in its latest update using these steps: 1) Open Windows Settings and click on View Advanced System Settings and then click on Update & Security option. 2) On the Advanced tab of Windows Updates click Check for updates 3) Scroll down until you find 'Adobe Acrobat X Pro' option as shown in the image below 4) Click 'Update now'. Adobe Acrobat Reader (free), an open source viewer/editor/converter is also available. Xarelto is the brand name for the drug telseplasmid (XARELTO) FDA-approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). Xarelto blocks production of tissue plasminogen activator, which results in thrombus dissolution. A thrombus is a blood clot that forms in the circulatory system. A thrombus can block blood flow to an organ or part of the body or cause damage to that organ.". On October 3, 2013 the FDA approved the use of Xarelto (telseplasmid) for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) only. Xarelto is a thrombolytic agent. Thrombolytic agents dissolve blood clots and prevent or dissolve blockage in blood vessels and other tissues that cause heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular diseases.". Soon after its release, some users found that it still had a serious security vulnerability which had been reported several times to the manufacturer before it went out-of-date as revealed by Kaspersky Labs' research on November 8, 2013. Kaspersky researchers found out that malware authors could bypass XARELTO's security feature, which is the latest version of VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) by embedding malicious codes into Excel sheets. This allows them to prevent the software from removing the malicious codes during its scanning stage. Since then, there have been continued claims that XARELTO has serious security flaws. Hopefully due to these reports, other manufacturers will be motivated to fix these types of security issues in their products as well. On May 1, 2014, the FDA issued a statement warning about the potential risks of XARELTO. However, it is clear from this report that those who have been receiving Xarelto prior to its approval may be at serious risk if they have experienced any of the following adverse side effects: Note: The full list of all possible adverse reactions is available on the FDA website. If you or a loved one has been injured by an unsafe or defective product there are several things that you can do. First, contact a consumer attorney who can help you determine whether you have a case and what issues will be important for your case. eccc085e13
